We take pride in offering a delightful array of breakfasts, lunches, and our signature afternoon teas. Each cake is lovingly crafted by our talented owner and baker, Kate, ensuring every slice is as fresh as it is flavourful. Our afternoon teas, a customer favourite, feature a selection of delicate sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and jam, and an assortment of homemade cakes, all served on vintage china for that quintessentially British experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, or indulging in afternoon tea, our menu caters to all tastes with quality and charm.
Why Miss Havisham's?
Step inside Miss Havishams Tea Rooms and step straight into the pages of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations. Our name is inspired by the unforgettable Miss Havisham, a character as rich in mystery and charm as the rooms you’ll find here. Each of our uniquely themed spaces draws inspiration from the novel’s setting and characters, from the elegance of a Victorian parlour to the intrigue of a candlelit study. Just as Dickens’ story invites you into a world of atmosphere and detail, our tea rooms invite you to linger, explore, and enjoy a timeless experience steeped in history (and tea).
Charles Dickens himself had strong ties to Stony Stratford, visiting often and staying at the historic Cock Hotel. Local history even weaves its way into his novels, Joseph Hambling, a well-known dance teacher with a school on Church Street, is said to have inspired the character of the ever-refined Mr Turveydrop in Bleak House. It’s a town steeped in literary connections, making Miss Havishams Tea Rooms the perfect place to celebrate the world and words of Dickens.
